From a long time ago, art was a luxury for the rich only, with no relation to everyday people. This has changed now, even in Japan, and art works like ceramic murals and such are said to have a healing power for humanity.
Even in the work I did at the Miyano-kiln studio, starting with my first pottery wall mural at Narita Airport, and later for kindergartens, schools, train-stations, hotels, hospitals, etc, my art was a communal asset which covered the human story from cradle to death. However, recently I am receiving many commissions for work on the themes of "Fairies" and "Healing".
The many problems and anxieties we face today are not finding a solution in the "Physical". We are looking for something beyond the "physical".
People are quickly realizing that the wounds of a pained spirit cannot be evaded through things/objects, and how difficult it is to foster a gentle spirit.

...the delicious tortilla made from a bountiful harvest of corn...
... the eucalyptus tea that makes the day better by soothing a child's cough...
...the homespun cloth of the young girls and women vividly dressed up for the fiesta dance...
those are the joys of life!
"How strange for people to covet wealth and happiness just for themselves," the Indio medicine man quietly advises us.
"What we leave behind, that is Love!" he adds...
